    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has experienced starting a dispute resolution business whilst working full time or part time? I noticed with employers they want to know about secondary employment and they can veto what secondary employment can be taken on. Has anyone started their business in this manner and then moved to the business full time?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Sharleen
I began my DR business in this way  in 2006 when my children were young and I had just finished my post grad degree in ADR. I was working part time  at what was then called Relationship Services NZ. I took on contracts with various agencies or Govt Ministries that related to ADR and as these grew, or a more suitable contract came up, I dropped off a previous one. Each year I built on this until I was in a position to become a DR consultant fully privately. I can't remember how I worked out my tax rate back then.
