Request for proposals to be considered for the NSW Small Business Commission Mediator Panel

Over the past three years the Commission has been critical in supporting the resolution of retail and commercial lease disputes and business to business disputes resulting from challenging circumstances associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, economic challenges and natural disasters.

Mediation is a cost-effective way to resolve disputes and the services of the Commission, supported by mediation panel members, has helped resolve many thousands of business disputes during this difficult time through effective case management and formal mediation sessions.

The NSW Small Business Commission is calling on accredited mediators, particularly those with experience in retail lease disputes, to apply for a position on its mediation panel.

The Commission's mediation service assists small businesses, landlords and other parties to resolve business and leasing disputes, avoiding lengthy and costly court action.

The mediation panel will operate for three years, with the option of a one-year extension.

The Commission is conducting a request for proposals for this new mediation panel for a three year period. Those interested in becoming a panel member can submit their application via the NSW Government eTender website here.

To be eligible as a panel member all mediators must have National Mediator Accreditation System registration and meet the overall assessment criteria. It is expected that the new panel will be in place in early 2024.

    Submit your application here

Applications close 10am (AEDT), Monday 15 January 2024.
