Dear Members,
The Queensland Building and Construction Commission has issued this ITO with the objectives of:
- To join a panel of professional mediators and conciliators to deliver conciliation services between homeowners and contractors to secure outcomes ratified in an agreement with all documentation to be returned to the QBCC on completion and within timeframes.
- The expectation of QBCC is that, providers from the conciliators panel will be offered a case to provide their services to. Providers will be able to accept/decline the offer, offers that are declined will need to provide a reasonable rationale for declining the offer. On accepting the offer, the conciliator will contact, organise and deliver a conciliation service to work through the issues. On completion of a service, the conciliator will formalise the outcome in an Agreement of which a copy will be provided to the QBCC. Any outstanding issues will be progressed by QBCC through other legislative pathways for resolution.
A briefing session will be held online at 9am 30th August 2023 to respond to any questions and gain further clarity on customer requirements and expectations.
