Hi Natalie,
I recently achieved accreditation as a mediator too, so I'm looking to grow my practice. I cam across this book "Making Mediation your day job" by Tammy Lenski, that is a really practical and pragmatic guide to setting up your Mediation practice and although I've only just started to apply it's principles it seems pretty valid and a valuable resource, (https://tammylenski.com/books/making-mediation-your-day-job/). You can get it from Mighty Ape.
If you are interested in FDR in the future their is also a two day workshop coming up in April in Wellington for "aspiring FDR practitioners", run by Lesley Ashworth. Lesley was my accreditation assessor and she seems to me to be a highly insightful and pragmatic mediator, so I'm thinking about doing this workshop even though I don't have much family dispute experience, (but would also like to move into the FDR space).
Happy to connect with you as a contact if you're willing?
Regards
Gordon

Subject: Getting started as a mediator
Having recently 'graduated' the mediation training in NZ (which was brilliant, thank you!) I would be interested in hearing suggestions on 'next steps' towards working as a mediator.
I'm currently working as an independent executive coach and looking to add mediation (and conflict coaching) to my portfolio. It seems prudent to start by getting more 'real world' experience and I'd love to hear how others went about that. I'm also interested in making connections here in New Zealand (happy to assist somewhere if that'd be helpful) and continuing my journey towards FDR work which I'm passionate about. All ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated!
