Bio

I began work at NCA Consulting and Training in December of 2017 after working ten years as a lecturer in the School of Law and Justice at Southern Cross University. I work with clients in several areas including workplace mediation and conduct management coaching, policy and procedures, work health and safety and employment matters, regulatory compliance. I have also worked extensively on developing risk management regimes.

Prior to working as a lecturer at Southern Cross University and a short hiatus to care for my then infant twins, now teenagers, in the 2000’s I worked as a general practice solicitor in Mullumbimby on the far north coast of New South Wales and in Melbourne for a boutique firm that specialised in venture capital, taxation, IPO work. During this time, I also worked as a NGO campaign coordinator.

In both practice and academia, I focused primarily on commercial, environment and planning, employment, IR and administrative law and policy development with the occasional foray into litigation. I have also been published in peer reviewed journals on a range of subjects including limitation of liability (maritime claims), carbon trading during the time of the CPRS and, most recently, sustainable development.

Life before university in the late 90’s. I worked in range of industries throughout regional Australia including the cattle industry of the Northern Territory, gold mining in Queensland’s Gulf country and the club industry on the far north coast of New South Wales. I also had stints working in the family fishing business, contract planting sugar cane, a stock and station agent and labour hire in transport and construction.
