Bio

I commenced working as a Deputy Associate in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia in 2010 and shortly thereafter was successful in securing a position as Associate in the Court. I worked as an Associate in the Court hearing family law proceedings for over 10 years and in this time saw the emotional and financial stress
that Court proceedings had on families and the devastating impact of entrenched conflict on children.

This extensive and unique exposure encouraged me to study Family Dispute Resolution as a way to help families resolve their disputes without the need for Court determination.

In 2020 I completed a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution with the Australian Institute of Social Relations and also completed the National Mediator Accreditation Standards.

In 2020 I became an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Federal Attorney General’s Department to provide Family Dispute Resolution in accordance with the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) and to issue section 60I Certificates under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth). In addition to mediating parenting proceedings I am qualified to mediate property proceedings.

Unlike many Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners I am not legally qualified and therefore my sole focus as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner is to ensure that parties do not become entrenched in legal proceedings. My goal is to help families communicate in a safe and respectful manner that is in the best interests of their children and to encourage families to be future focused.

As a proud Kamilaroi woman I am dedicated to assisting Indigenous families reach a resolution that will safeguard their cultural identity. In addition, my work with the Court has provided me with skills for assisting parties from culturally diverse backgrounds.

I hold professional memberships and associations with the Resolution Institute, Australian Mediation Association and the National Mediator Standards Board.
